Laurel is a young artist who has made residence in Olympia Washington for the majority of her life. She is known to be eclectic in mediums, subjects and views. As of late, her work revolves around books, people, and nature coexisting with civilization. Within these subjects are stories to be unfolded by the imagination... where she believes anything is possible.
Printmaking and painting are her favorite mediums and she has spent some time incorporating the two with hand colored block prints. In the collections of her work you will find a large variety of mediums; including various processes of printmaking, paintings with watercolor, acrylic and oils, drawings, pastels, mixed mediums, mosaic and more.
Occasionally she teaches printmaking and painting informally to individuals. She promotes the idea that everyone can create art and art is for everyone. She enjoys working collaboratively with others who share her passion.
In the past Laurel has worked with nonprofit organizations such as The Procession of the Species and Book Ends. She has designed logos and advertising material for these organizations along with volunteering her time to their needs.
Laurel started showing her work while attending high school. Since then her work has shown at a handful of events, coffee shops and galleries. She is excited about having a sample of her work up on-line to share with the whole world.
